Needing Cancelled Domain

Due to a mis-understanding and lack of technical expertise we cancelled our domain today despite a post suggesting not to cancel it. However didnt realize that cancelling my package with WP i will loose the domain as well. Is there a possibility to get the domain back by any chance?

If you cancelled the package that included a domain than my understanding is that they go into some sort of holding status. As justjennifer says contact staff, though from memory the holding status is with their registration service not WordPress themselves.
