Needing help regarding pages and posts
-
Hello,
First and foremost I know this is a question that has been asked probably a thousand times and or more. This time around I am seeking help regarding an issue I have regarding posts, ‘pages’ and linking content using categories. On my page if you go to it at http://blastawaythegamereview.com, you’ll see that there are multiple categories at the top. What I am looking to do is have those posts show on the main page, but also the pages I’ve created. The best example I can show is http://indiegamerchick.com
I did notice on the page for her, she has indiegamerchick.com/category as her urls for if clicking them. Do I need to do this within the wordpress website since this is how my ‘website’ is hosted? If so please let me know how to do this. The assistance woul dbe appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What you refer to as Categories are static pages and static pages will never ever update with new content. Only dynamic Category Pages will automatically update when you publish new posts.
Please read this first Post vs. Page http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
(1) There is only one page we can post to in any blog.
(2) The static pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ we bloggers create do not automatically update.Only the dynamic pages like Archives, Categories and Tags created by the software when we publish a post will update automatically update with new posts.
By default the front page of the blog is the Page that displays all posts in your blog. You can create a static front page and have your published posts display on another page http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/ but doing that does not change what follows.
Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.
This guide will walk you through how to create category pages for your blog, to display groupings of similar posts on pages other than your front page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/category-pages/
Create a custom menu

Add dynamic categories and sub-categories pages to it
http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-category-pages
Create order and sub-menus (dropdowns)
http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#changing-the-order-creating-sub-menusHere’s a link to my post on this http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/07/25/create-a-wordpress-website-step-by-step/
There are many common errors, misunderstandings and misconceptions when creating custom menus and there are some tweaks you can use to improve your custom menu as well. Here is more information:

Will this allow my posts to show how hers are however? That’s all I’m looking to do is give the illusion those posts are showing up on that ‘page’ as hers do, but also while showing on my main page so that they are archived in such a manner.

This is an example of a static page link
http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/basic-blogging/
Please study it closely and note that I update every link on that page manually. Then compare that URL to this Category page URL http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/category/basic-blogging/ which automatically updates every time I publish a post with the “basic blogging” category assigned to it.
You created only static pages and sub-pages that will never automatically update.

With the help you gave me I was able to do this. Unfortunately I think in the future I may have to build a not-so-static website. At the time though, I’m loving what I have as I’m still working my way into the journalism world. Unfortunately, I wasn’t at the tine when building this realizing I had made a blog, not a ‘website’ as I had hoped! Overall I’m satisfied.
My next question is, am I able to make a scrolling menu that goes down with the page so my readers have my most recent always scrolling down the page?

Possibly. Please use this link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform so you can copy and paste your text into a thread that will appear in the CSS Forum where you will get a definitive answer forum those who help with CSS editing.
