Needing more information about premium and business plans

  Hello!

  Where do I get more information about WordPress.com’s plans (premium, business). I have some questions that are not covered in the comaprison table.

  Hello,

  I am afraid I do need a lot more information:

  1. Does the $299 fee cover multisite too or is it for a single site?

  2. How unlimited is “unlimited storage”? Is there a file count limit? A limit on the number of database tables? Any other limits?

  3. Will I be able to modify the themes as I wish, create child themes for example?

  4. What about plugins? Will I be able to use all of the plugins available on WordPress.org? Will I be able to modify plugins to suit my purpose? Will I be able to create simple plugins?

  5. Am I bound to the eCommerce solutions provided by Ecwid and Shopify? Is there an extra fee for that? Will I be able to use other, perhaps free eCommerce solutions or set up my own using plugins?

  6. I need to set up a membership site with category and tag access limits and also layered content limit on post contents. Is it possible with the free plugins available?

  7. Anything else you think I should know about? ;-)

  1. All upgrades are per site, per year.

  2. There is no limit on file count or anything else. It is truly unlimited. WordPress.com recommends using individual file sizes up to 1 GB as uploading big files can take a long time.

  3. Because of the way WordPress.com’s technical infrastructure is designed, they are not able to support uploading of custom WordPress themes on any plan.

  4. Most popular plugin functionality is already available automatically on WordPress.com. As a result, WordPress.com users won’t find a Plugins tab in the Dashboard.

  5. No other eCommerce plugins other than Ecwid and Shopify are available at this stage.

  6. WordPress.com is not for membership sites.
