should I just cancel the upgrade package attached to sarahwbartlett.me.wordpress.com and repurchase it on sarahwbartlett.wordpress.com?

how will I keep the domain registration part of the package without having to pay another $30??? I haven’t yet registered my domain; but it’s been over a week since purchasing the upgrades

    Hi there,

I’d be happy to move your subscription, including your domain, to sarahwbartlett.wordpress.com.

    Would that work for you?

Thank you SO MUCH for getting back to me!

I know I sound desperate – I’ve been trying for over a week to get hold of someone to say just that. Meanwhile, I finally figured out the best way to switch the bundle was to cancel it from one site; and order it from the other. Which I’ve done.

So now I’m down to two problems:
1 – how to eliminate the unwanted blog (sarahwbartlett.me.wordpress.com)
    2 – how/when to get my domain, sarahwbartlett.com to wordpress.com blog.

As I indicated in my earlier requests, I currently own sarahwbartlett.com hosted at weebly.com. I am not interested in moving any content; I’m completely rebuilding/restructuring the site at WP. I do, however, want to keep the domain name, which is one reason I bought the upgrade. I have made copies of all material on that site, so am OK with moving it anytime. I have yet to go live with the new WP site which is also OK. It doesn’t need to be an instantaneous thing.

Is fixing this domain issue something you can do? Or do I need to do something via weebly first?

Again, huge gratitude for your response. I look forward to tying up these final loose ends.

    Hi there,

I’m sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

I’ve deleted sarahwbartlettdotme.wordpress.com for you as requested.

According to the WHOIS database, your domain ( sarahwbartlett.com ) is registered through Register.com. You’ll need to change your name servers through your registrar to:

    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com

Once you do so, you can map your domain, sarahwbartlett.com, to your WordPress.com blog at Store -> Domains in your blog’s dashboard.

    Here’s a link to your WordPress.com blog’s dashboard:

Full instructions on mapping a domain are available here:

Don’t hesitate to contact us again if you need anymore help. :-)

thanks so much. I’ve got both you and Jeremy helping me now, I feel VERY attended to.

I registered my domain through Weebly. Do i go through THEM; or directly through Register.com??? once i make the change, the weebly site will just disappear, right?

thanks so much for your time and guidance. extremely helpful.
    peace

    Hi there,

    You’re welcome :-)

If you’ve registered your domain through Weebly, you’ll want to try contacting them to see how you can change your name servers to:

    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com

It appears that they have a support document on changing name servers here:
    http://kb.weebly.com/domain-settings.html

Once you change your name servers, you’ll need to add the domain to your WordPress.com blog at Store -> Domains in your WordPress.com blog’s dashboard.

    http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

Keep in mind that you’ll need to keep your domain registration current through your registrar. You might want to contact Weebly for details.

Once you map your domain, your WordPress.com site will be visible when you navigate to your domain name. However, your Weebly site may remain at a different address. You might want to contact Weebly for details about how you can remove the site altogether, if that’s what you want.

thanks again! I’ve gotten some of the earlier issues sorted out – later this week I hope to get to the domain situation. You’ve been most helpful and I will read/follow each link carefully. Hopefully it won’t be necessary for me to ask for additional help!!

AND I know where to find it if need be.

    Cheers.
