Neo-Sapien – Separate post-date & author from other post-metadata
-
The template “Neo-Sapien” places the post-metadata all in one block at the end of each entry. I’d like to be able to move the post-date and author up to the div with the post’s title (either immediately above, below or inline but flush right) and to be able to specify a smaller, lighter weight font for those. At the same time, I want to keep the tags and keywords (and only the those) for the post at the very end. Is there a way I can do this just with CSS?
THANKS! (my blog’s at: http://icondoit.wordpress.com)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There’s no way to separate that out, sadly. It’s an all-or-nothing deal. We’ve got so many people looking for ways to make “Leave a comment” invisible, but they can’t do it without hiding everything else useful.
Unless someone has a clever workaround of which I’ve never heard? You could of course put the tags in by hand in each post, but that’s tedious.

I figured out how to alter the font-color for the date and the author (separate from their field titles) so you’d think there’d be a way to separate out the location of each separate post-metadata field…

Can’t be done that I know of. There is no individual positioning of elements so that means the base positioning is done in the underlying theme files. The entire block of metadata could be moved, but not individual elements.
By the way, when I try to look at your blog it is constantly whining at me to sign in to your idisk.mac.com account because a bunch of your images are coming from there it appears. I had to click the cancel button on the login box about 15 times to be able to get to your site and see if I could figure out a way to move those elements.

Thanks for the heads-up. Hopefully, I’ve been able to correct this and the images and download links should work without any annoyance. (I had used the “actual” link url rather than the “shared” link that Apple’s MobileMe prefers.
