Neo-Sapien Widgets

  I’m drafting up a blog using the neo-sapien theme, but want to remove the calender widget. When I go to the widget section it shows no widgets in the sidebar, and I can drag over a calender to replace the default one, but I don’t want a calendar at all.

  Who do I remove the default one?

  Dragging any widget into the sidebar will remove the default widgets that come with the theme.

  If you want the sidebar to be completely empty you can try dragging in a Text Widget and leaving it empty.

  Just be aware that adding a blank text widget will make the sidebar look empty, but it won’t actually reclaim the space the sidebar occupies.

  In the neosapien theme the calendar is hardcoded in the sidebar in the obarr.php. When you use widgets the widgets will be placed in the sidebar. When no widgets are placed then the original content of the obarr.php is displayed thus a calendar is visible. It is not difficult to edit the obarr.php and rmove the calendar.
