Neophyte here, how do I add a second site?

I need a seperate site from my personal WP for my podcast, do I just buy another domain and that’ll give me access to a whole new blank site? Or is there another simple obvious way to do this that I’m completly missing? I really don’t want to just add another page to my site. Thank you.

Log out of wordpress.com and clear your browser cache and cookies. Then without logging in register another username account using a different email address. lastly register a blog under the new username account. That way the usernames and blogs will remain disassociated, unless you muck up and reveal said information and/or your identity in either blog.
