Nested comments?

  Hi!

  I’m very new to WordPress, so please bear with this n00b ;)

  I’d like to have nested / threaded comments, so that it’s possible to trace a conversation more easily. I’m wondering if this functionality is available on the webhosted version of WordPress (maybe in one of the themes?)

  I’m aware that it is possible to add a plugin to support this feature if you host your own blog. There seem to be a few different plugins out there, so if theis is the only option for me I’d appreciate any tips on which one is the best.

  Webbreader – are you hosted on wp.com? From the mention of plugins I would guess not. However, if you are then the nested comments is not available to us here.

  If not, then, as you mention there are plugins available, but you’ll have to ask for opinion over at http://www.wordpress.org. FWIW there’s a rating system on the plugins linked via wp.org which will give a good indication of the quality of a plugin.

  Cornell – I am hosted on wp.com at the moment, yes. I just created a blog as a test to try out the features before I choose a platform for a project I’m working on.

  I get the feeling I will have to go for the hosting it myself option, to get the functionality I need. So I’ll ask over at wp.org, thanks for the help!
