Nested folders/sub-categories and best template for advertising column

Hi there,
I have set up a website in squarespace but there are limitations so considering rebuilding in wordpress. It is a service directory so will need multiple menu drop downs/sub category drop downs within menu (if that makes sense?) which squarespace doesn’t support.
I also need a separate rhs column for advertising space that will float on its own. In squarespace the rhs is trying to align constantly with anything on the lhs. I just briefly looked at ‘healthy living’ template and saw that this sort of looks like what I mean.
Can anyone help?

You are not allowed to sell advertising on WordPress.com at all: http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/
https://wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/If that is crucial to you I think you’d be better served by buying a domain and hosting and setting up your website on WordPress.ORG which doesn’t have that restriction. See here for more information:
