Nesting pages and having them accessible
-
Hi everyone,
I’m new to this! I’ve created a new page which I’m using to showcase my work on. Under the header, I can select ‘My Work’ link which takes me to the ‘My Work’ page. I want each piece of work to have it’s own page. I’ve nested them under ‘My Work’ but once in the parent page, I can’t access the other pages. I’ve added the pages widget in so that you can but now it appears on all pages which I don’t want. Any ideas? Even if I can make it so that the pages widget is the only one on the ‘My Work’ page and doesn’t appear on any others. Thanks!

Welcome! You can hard code links to the Child (nested) Pages on your Parent Page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/links/
You can still use the Page Widget, especially convenient for those who have strayed from the top nav bar, but choose to exclude Child Pages. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/pages-widget/
And if you don’t mind my 2¢ on image size..your free 3G of space will be gone sooner than you’d like by uploading images that weigh in at 14M. From your site visitors side, not everyone has a broadband connection and those people aren’t going to wait around for that full-size image to load, no matter how talented you are. :)
Check out onecoolsite for info on re-sizing before uploading and the reasons why you want to to this http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2008/05/03/how-good-is-wordpress-at-resizing-and-resampling-your-images/
