Neve Theme, Dropdown Lists

I hope someone can help me, I am literally puling my hair out!.
I have a Woocommerce store and I have products on my site to sell, I have a plugin installed ‘Variations for Woocommerce’ which basically allows you to show the various colours the products come in, however what the plug in does do is overwrite the Woocommerce default setting of the drop down menus, also its not the top menu bar drop downs, they are fine, its within each product which has the options for sizes, colours etc.
The main problem is I still want to use the dropdown menu for the ‘Size’ option of my products which I edited the attribute and changed it to ‘Select-Default’.
However when I now look at the dropdown menu it does offer to ‘Select an Option’ but when I scroll down it looks blank at first, the text is white, until I move down the dropdown list with the mouse and it then highlights the number, which is okay, but what I am wanting is to click on ‘Select an Option’ and then I can see the sizes in black text rather than only being noticeable once I have hovered over it.
Sorry if all this is confusing and I am sure there is a much simpler way of putting this…hope someone can help me please. -
