Never-ending email spam from Jet Pack (past premium customer)
-
Hi!
I was a premium Jet Pack customer with our old website – https://iafre.org.
We closed the website and canceled the Jet Pack premium subscription. However, since then, I keep getting nonstop emails for the website being ‘offline’. The subject line is: “Alert: IAFRE is still offline or unresponsive”.
1. The email doesn’t have an ‘unsubscribe’ button. Only a “manage email preferences” link that goes to wordpress.com (and then issue #3 happens)
2. We don’t have the website anymore, so I cannot ‘delete’ jetpack from the backend.
3. The wordpress.com dashboard doesn’t show the website anymore either, so I can’t stop these emails from there.
4. And last, but the funniest one, I’m not allowed to contact JetPack’s “premium” support regarding this “premium” issue because I’m not a paying customer anymore. Lol.Any suggestions on how to stop this misery?
Thanks,

Hi there,
I have deactivated Jetpack monitor on that site, which I can confirm was still set to ‘on’ for some reason.
You should no longer see downtime emails for iafre.org but if that changes please let us know, thanks!

Hi again! It looks like we missed one setting to get that turned off for that site, so you may have received additional emails. Apologies!
Since you still have a number of Jetpack connections under your account, to prevent this in the future you just need to first disable the Monitor feature in your site’s wp-admin dashboard and disconnect Jetpack from your WordPress.com account before deleting the site. The Monitor service doesn’t know the difference between a site that’s actually down and a site that was taken down intentionally.
Also, you can always get help from Jetpack support on their official support forum on WordPress.org regardless of your paid plan status.
I hope that clarifies things!
