Can I format subscriber emails?
-
I currently do not like the formatting of the new blog posts email that subscribers receive when a new article is published. Is there any way to:
A.) Format the picture to lie in the same place as it does online? It falls randomly within the body of a paragraph & does not look nice.
B.) Format the header for the email? It looks too “busy” when we have multiple tags & categories.
C.) Format the text? The spacing differs online when compared to the email. Some of it is double-spaced, some paragraphs are single spaced.
D.) If none of this is possible, can we send just a link to the article? I see the option to send a summary instead of the full-text article, but I would rather just a link, if none of the above is possible.
E.) Do we have any control over when WordPress email blasts our subscribers? Right now it just seems like it automatically blasts when an article is published. I would love more control when it comes what my subscribers see & when they see it.
Please let me know. Thanks in advance for the help.

Unfortunately, the subscription emails cannot be customized or controlled. There is no way to prevent them from being sent whenever a post is published.

Thanks for your response. Are there are any premium options we can upgrade to in order to give the users & admins more control over subscriber emails? Just thought I’d ask.
Thanks!

Dang. Is this something WordPress would be willing to consider?
Mac, I am wondering if this is a workaround – could I manually delete a person once they have subscribed, and then use their email for Constant Contact? I could work up a more formalized version of our blog plost & then control when it email blasts them…? :)

It is something worth considering, and I did pass your request up the food chain.
Their email address as visible, so I suppose you could manually subscribe them elsewhere, but you can’t remove them from the list here. They would have to unsubscribe themselves.
