Never showing the text with bold and color in the label of code.
-
Hello WP staff :-),
I found this issue about never showing the text with bold and color in the label of code. The following two pictures are what I’ve attach from my blog.
https://quanwenzhao.files.wordpress.com/2020/02/color_text_with_code_label_1.png
https://quanwenzhao.files.wordpress.com/2020/02/color_text_with_code_label_2.png
Next I eliminate the label of code on my Private Post: Test Page. This time it’s able to normally show the text with bold and color.

Hi Quanwen –
I’m curious what browser is in use. Is it current? Check at https://browsehappy.com/
You can easily rule out that as an issue by trying a different browser to see if it behaves differently. Write back to us here with those results and then we can start digging a little deeper.

Hello lizkarkoski :-),
Sorry for the delayed reply.
At the same time I wrote a blog note – https://quanwenzhao.wordpress.com/2020/02/07/wordpress-bug/ to describe this issue. I think that it’s never related to the different types of browser.
BTW after I posted this issue three times because I didn’t find it on the recent support list at that moment. Will it never public if anyone doesn’t reply to me? This post should be the 1st one I submitted.
Best Regards

Hi Quanwen,
The issue you’re describing is happening because every code added inside of
...
will be treated as a code that shouldn’t be rendered. To highlight important lines of code I recommend you to use the SyntaxHighlighter Code Block.

Your posts landed in the Spam queue, that why you were not able to see them. I unspammed them all but deleted the two duplicates.

Hi fresatomica :-),
Thank you so much for your timely reply.
SyntaxHighlighter Code Block need a business plan to use (now I use a free plan on WP). To highlight the key lines of code I can use parameter “highlight” on a couple of
....The important code with bold and color has just been used in the lable of “preformatted”.

Good Morning –
The business plan is not required to use the syntax highlighter code block.
This is a free site that I have. Where I’ve added the block. On the right hand side you’ll see the option to select the language. I want to start here, at the beginning, to make sure that you’re seeing the same options. Take a look and write back.

Hello lizkarkoski :-),
Why I directly paste my screenshot to this reply box? But you can …
Are you using a New Block Editor on your blog? Currently I still use a Classic Editor on my WP blog, so I think that “/SyntaxHighlighter Code” on the Link Page and screenshot mentioned previously is the same as “
...
” on my classic editor page.
Now I switch to use New Block Editor and I’ve also gotten your display effect (Classic Editor don’t do it).

Correct. You need to use the block editor in order to use that code block that I’ve displayed in the screen shot. It sounds like you’ve figured that out. Is the block working for you now?
To include a screen shot in the forums you need to include the image link in this form.
