New & Need Permalink Help

like i mentioned before I am new and I have went and did a post, design and publish. However when I copy and paste my permalink into my address bar to see how it would look it gives me a 404 error what you are looking for is not here. Why is that? I am trying to make sure my permalink works so that I can use it on other sites to link back to this post. Can anyone help me??

this is the permalink that gives me the error. I am trying to post it to another site that will link back to my blog.

if you click on the link from the post it does fine but if I test it by going to dashboard copy and paste permalink in address bar of my browser it gives me an error.

Click on link from post and copy the URL that shows up in address at top. Don’t copy it from your dashboard.

How do I create a permalink on the main page? Trying to get the welcome to the site as permaling on the front page.

You cannot make a post the permanent entry point. You can make a static page the permanent entry point, but if you want to have much pull with search engines this is a very bad idea. It will kill your SEO. But if that’s what you want, and you think that most people who read your blog will not become regular readers but will just come the once and so need to see the Welcome, you can write it as a static page instead of a post and then select it under Settings to be the start page of your blog.
