new account

I’m attempting to create a new account under my new email address… I have questions about signing up but wordpress offers no means for me to ask a question without signing up or signing in on my other accounts. How are potential new users supposed to get answers to questions if they can’t find the answer on the website and can’t contact anyone? In my case, I’m attempting to create a new free account under my new email address. But the only urls that wordpress offers have the word ‘blog’ automatically attached. Is this the only option? And why do I have to log in to ask this question? And why is my only support option the community forums? Doesn’t wordpress have a support staff? Why doesn’t wordpress offer a simple contact method where curious potential customers can ask a question without signing up? I can call or email virtually any business to get questions answered without having to become a member. What happens if a prospective member signs up, finds the answer to their question and decides this isn’t right for them? Now they have an account that they’ll never use and they have to either let is sit or delete it. That seems like a lot of effort just to get a simple question answered. Can anyone shed some light on these questions? Is wordpress not actually a business? Is it just an open-source application without anyone running it? I don’t understand the business model and am getting a little frustrated with my only option being to hope someone in the community takes pity on me and answers my question.

Hello 10yearsbehind!
As I said on the other thread you opened, you can find all the WordPress.com support options on the link below:
To be able to post on forums you need to have an account. If you don’t have an account, you can check the support docs on the link below:
About your URL question, when you’re creating a new account and type the blog address you want, it will give you other options if the address isn’t available, one of the options could be with the “blog” at the end of the address you typed.
About your question related to WordPress, it’s a software developed by Automattic, which you can use hosted at WordPress.com or download and install on a different host, to have a self-hosted WordPress.org site. Here is more information that can be useful:

Thank you for your response.
I understand that WP requires login to be able to communicate. It just seems like an odd way to operate. I’ve never seen a company require a person to register and provide personal information to ask a simiple question about signing up. It’s kind of like being required to fill out a job application before I’m allowed to ask what kind of job I’m applying for.Anyway, as far as the URL goes, I’ve tried dozens of words (many extremely obscure) to find a URL that doesn’t automatically generate “blog” at the end. The only ones that don’t automatically put “blog” at the end are paid URLs. If I’m mistaken, can you show me a screenshot or suggest a free URL that doesn’t add “blog” to the end?

@10yearsbehind, I understand your point, but since the support is through our community forums, you need an user to be able to post on them.
You can’t create a blog with the same address as an username too. Only the owner of the username can create a blog with its name, like you did with “10yearsbehind”. So, if the address you want exists already or is the same as an username, it will show other options for you.
I tested two options that are available:
