New account closed and can’t log in

I started making a new account. Part way through the signup I realized I could log in with my google account. I deleted the account I had started to create, and was going to start over using my google log in.
When I try to create a new account using my google account, it asks me to log in. When I put in my email it says the account is deleted.
Is there some way to start over? I tried filing an account recovery, but it doesn’t accept my Account Activation link (copied from the email I received), so I cannot submit it.
What are my options?

Please reply to the account closure email we have sent to your Gmail so we can re-open your account. Then you’ll be able to link your Google account and use that to log-in to your WordPress.com account. Here’s the page where you can link your Google or Apple account:
