New account, not recognizing wordpress or bluehost when logging into admin
-
Hi! I’ve recently made a wordpress.com website and am still building it. I’m trying to post my first blog post so I can better organize the site.
I go to my site and click admin login, I tried using my login and password for wordpress and it said it didn’t work. So I tried my bluehost login/password. Still no go.
I tried forgot password and it told me nobody with that email has an account. Which I don’t understand, because I only have that email, and I’m logged in here and it clearly shows my user name I tried and my email I tried as my login and email. It says my main site is the site I went to and clicked admin login as well.
Is there a different channel I have to use to get into the backside of my account? I’m lost.
Thank you in advance.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Update, I was able to get in by going through bluehost.com and resetting my password there, (note, when I did, it turns out the password I had was correct as it wouldn’t let me resuse it so my username wasn’t. Is it not your email?)
Then click on log in to wordpress from within bluehost.
However! when Iog out of my admin account, I cannot log back in unless I go through the bluehost website again. I tried using my WP username, my email, (it sent the reset to that email so its definitely correct) and just admin as that shows as my username when I’m in the site.
I tried with all three my new bluehost password as well as my WP password, in each case it said invalid username.
How do I correct this?

Hello @pascoflyer,
kylejjohnson.com was created using self-hosted WordPress.org software, rather than WordPress.com:
You can also reach the WordPress.org forum to get help.
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
As you are hosting the website with Bluehost.com you can just reach their support and they can reset your login credentials for WordPress dashboard
You can reach their support via here: https://helpchat.bluehost.com/

Thanks for the response, I read the org vs com support page and I thought I created a .com site. I guess I’m still confused on the difference. My site isn’t free.
I’ll reach out to the bluehost support and see if I can get a hold of them.

Hello @pascoflyer
Sure, you don’t have to worry just reach the Bluehost support they will create login credentials for you and you will be able to access dashboard. 😀
