New and clueless
-
Hi all,
I’m fairly new to using WordPress and am pretty clueless how it works. I have a blog set up through WordPress that I use the Dashboard online to work with. The site is http://thresholdtalent.wordpress.com and I purchased a domain through WordPress so thresholdtalent.com is directed through that site. Can I use the WordPress desktop client? I want to be able to use plug-ins and haven’t figured out a way to do that. Any help is greatly appreciated!Michael
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No, you can’t use the desktop client or use plugins. That is all only for WordPress.ORG blogs.
Why don’t you just tell us what you want to accomplish and we can tell you how to get it working for your blog here?

Thanks for the reply raincoaster. The site is for talent management. What I’d like to do is have a heading for “Represented Atheletes” that would be a drop down that listed represented athlete links that you could click on for each athlete’s resume. I don’t know if I could get that functionality out of the .com blog, but it would be great. Does that make sense?

You could make each resume a page and then create a custom menu with links to the pages. You could also upload the resumes as documents to be downloaded, though I think you’d want an html version, as well.
Here’s some places to get started with that:
