    Hi, I just purchase a domain name only with Bluehost I want to own my domain name. At the time I was not sure which host website I wanted to create my blog but have considered wordpress.com. If map my domain name is there a fee? Also and maybe this second question is for Bluehost- They had a special with wordpress but I’m not sure if is .com or.org and if I’am able to still get it now since I just purchases my domain name with them. Again, I’m still new to this so if you can share a a suitable solution that would be great. Thank you in advance.

    Hey There! I am trying to make payment to purchase domain for my website. But it declined three times while I make this payment through my debit card. Please help me to make my payment.

    Hi @gretinaaaron,

    To clear up any further confusion, there is WordPress.com and WordPress.org and they are two different entities.

    We, WordPress.com are a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites, whereas WordPress.org is a stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting.

    You can find more details about WordPress.com and WordPress.org on this support page:

    So, if you purchase hosting anywhere else than WordPress.com – you would be using the open-source software from WordPress.org.

    If you have a custom domain registered elsewhere and you purchased one of our paid plans, you can use that domain as your primary address for your WordPress.com site.

    You can either map it – your domain will stay with the current registrar and you’ll need to go to their site to manage anything domain related.

    Or you can transfer the domain to WordPress.com and we’ll be your new registrar. This way you’ll manage everything from one place and you’ll be able to reach support with any domain related-issues :)

    Sometimes your bank may block the transaction, even if your card works for other purchases. Please contact your bank to confirm that they are not blocking transactions from WordPress.com. Also, make sure that your card is valid for online and international transactions.
