Add topic to favorites
Now that Matt has added avatars to the system (see: http://wordpress.com/blog/2006/10/20/avatars-everywhere/), How do we add it to our own offsite blogs? Is it just an upgrade to 2.0.5?

OOPS! You are in the wordpress.com support forum and the thread you posted applies to wordpress.com blogs.
You need to be over here asking your question http://wordpress.org/support as it is the forum for self hosting and web hosted bloggers.

also, until wordpress.com implements OpenID or releases an API, there’s no way to pull avatars to a hosted installation.

Mine used to show beside my personal comments on my blog. But it no longer does. It appeared on another’s blog when I commented today. Whats up? Is it not supposed to show on my blog, and only on others?

Unlike the person posting above yours is a wordpress.com blog. Only some wordpress.com themes allow the avatars to be displayed on comments. And the only “fixes” for avatars that are not displaying on themes where they should be displaying are backend fixes so, send in a feedback to staff if you are having avatar problems. :)

It’s much easier to tell you’re a girl from this avatar. With the dragon, it was at the wrong angle and you couldn’t really see if it was a boy or a girl.

clearly, i don’t know enough about dragons. i wouldn’t even know what to look for at the right angle.

but yes, the new one’s quite attractive

Not surprisingly the only dragons I know are all girls, they all reside within me and they all represent different aspects of the conflict and the union of the forces of chaos and cosmic order within my “self”.
And as for my relationship with the new avatar, well, only Collin and I know who she is ^^ and we aren’t telling. ;)
