New black bar at bottom of blog won't go away!
-
I have a WordPress.com blog at http://daddyhoodtranscribed.wordpress.com and suddenly there is a black bar at the bottom of my blog that says “Theme: Coraline by Automattic. Fonts on this blog. Blog at WordPress.com” with associated links.
I get that everyone wants credit for their part, but I pay for the CSS and Font upgrade and would expect that there would be a way to hide this annoying bar. Tips or suggestions on how to get rid of it?
Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes it can be hidden via CSS, but it is not allowed at wordpress.com, and could get your site suspended or deleted.
You can style it with CSS to make it less obvious (perhaps a lighter color, but be careful when doing that as making it too light would be the same as hiding it.

How do you think the costs of running free blogs at WP.com get paid for? There are costs for computers, bandwidth, electricity, and paid happiness engineers.

Huh, ok, thanks! I figured it would be ok to hide it because I haven’t seen it on other blogs that clearly use CSS upgrade. I wonder why? I certainly won’t do anything that could get me in trouble!

Motre: that’s the point, I’m NOT a free blogger, I pay for my services. Free blogs should be paid for through things that happen on FREE blogs. That’s a big reason I upgraded to NoAds (which, of course, I pay for).

If the blogs are here and have hidden them, it is only a matter of time till staff catches them and gives them a whack.

The footers are required even for the VIP sites – the VIP sites START at $ 20,000 a year plus you need to have a WordPress wizard on your staff.

Is there a way to make it as part of the page footer instead of aFloating bar that moves with the page?

Help, please. Black bar does indeed pop up at bottom of page ( I can live with that) but it also seems to disable scrolling and hides access to the older/newer posts directions.I am also using Coraline if that makes any difference.

What I see on your blog wearing the Forever theme is a black background footer withe links that we are not allowed to remove or hide with CSS editing. However with the purchase that upgrade you could change the background color to another color. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/May I remove credit links such as ‘Blog at !WordPress.com’, theme, font, or toolbar links?
All WordPress.com bloggers are required to maintain the credit links, even our VIP bloggers. Please do not hide the footer credits or the toolbar with CSS after purchasing a Custom Design upgrade.http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions -
The “black bar” is not an advertisement. It is part of the wordpress system here. It is not covered by the no-ads upgrade.

There appears to be a trend of thinking in this thread that’s strange. I read people saying they paid for upgrades and expecting more than what the documentation for the specific upgrades stated. I pay for domain mapping upgrades for my blogs and that’s what I get. >http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions
I pay for a No-Ads upgrade and that’s exactly what I get. > -

@thinkindigo – that black bar at the foot of my blog only appears when my auto-pager starts loading more pages, and when I click back onto my blog title it disappears.
i just had a look at your blog and there isn’t a black bar at the bottom; but one would appear if I added your blog to my auto-pager. Hope that’s of help :D
