New block editor shortcomings (color, table, category search)

    1. You can’t select just a few words of text (e.g. somebody’s name) to make a different color, or to add a different background color – the entire block (paragraph) changes color.
    2. color change slide-bar is difficult to manoeuvre; I’d prefer to start with old editor fixed colors, then allow user to tweak these
    3. in editor, cannot see color changes to text that is hyperlinked
    4. cannot change color of text (or background) in a table cell
    5. column widths of table in editor bear no resemblance to column widths in “view page” mode
    5. cannot adjust/customize column widths of table
    6. Category search (in block/document editor) sometimes comes up blank, even when I know that the category exists. If you search several different times, eventually the search item WILL show up. In my blog, a “rare” bird will be seen; I “bold” the name of the bird, then flag it as a category. I have a large number of categories (they include locations of birding trips); the old editor “search category” feature works flawlessly.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I always have two spaces after a period; after adding spaces, which still show up in the block editor, they are eliminated in the “View page” posting!! I will have to return to the old editor to fix that. Very annoying to have my editing overruled.

Almost all of my categories do not show up in the block editor. It’s frustrating to have to go to the classic and scroll through all of them to find the right one, when in theory I could just type it in and it would be there.
