New Block Widgets System

  Have some problems with my site Widgets where I place Widgets and Footer, one or the other gets removed/disappears and sometimes appear within the inactive Widget section.

  Example I have setup my Sidebar Widgets and when I add Footer 4 Widgets, the Sidebar Widgets disappear and vice versa. Leaving currently only allowing me to use 1 section for Widgets, and leaving my site currently with no footer only Sidebar Widgets are working.

  Hi @joeparkinson, thanks for letting us know here. That is on the site you’ve shared here, correct?

  Would it be okay if we try adding the widget to the footer to see what you’re seeing? I want to test to see what’s happening, if possible. If not, let us know so we can try another option.

  Also, we did run into an issue that sounds a little like this. It only affected themes that have long been retired. If you’re willing, you might try updating to something newer to see if that resolves the issue for you.

  Hi @supernovia that’s correct, the link shared is the site I’m using.

  And Yes you have full permission to try adding a widget in footer to test and see what’s happening.

  I think we’ll need some more details.

  As you can see in this screenshot, I added 1 paragraph block as a widget to each footer column (footer 1, footer 2, footer 3, and footer 4) without affecting the sidebar: https://d.pr/i/zDP8D4

  What widget did you add to Footer 4 that caused the sidebar to disappear?

  Interesting staff-blorbo not doing anything differently just now, I did similar test adding 1 paragraph block as a widget to each footer column from Footer#1 to Footer#3 this is the result. https://i.imgur.com/vNKfqk3.png

  On myside the Sidebar Widgets have disappeared with the footer paragraph blocks still being there. https://i.imgur.com/scgx39p.png

  Hm, ok that’s super odd.

  First, please make sure that your browser is up to date: https://browsehappy.com/

  If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.

  If it is, please do these two things:

  1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.

  2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

  Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.
