Does the ‘premium’ package come with a ‘visitor counter’, so prospective advertisers can see total visitors to my site? Does it come with ‘banner space’ above for advertisers to advertise, or is this something I build into the site myself? How else can I make $$ on my blog site?

It sounds like you’re looking for displaying third-party ads on your WordPress.com site. This wouldn’t be possible on plan Premium, however, we have our own ads program, you can read more about it here:
