New blog
-
Hi,
I wanted to change the title of my blog from “twototravel” to “eternalgringo” so went and assigned the username however then discovered that I should have just allocated the new name from the existing account. So i deleted the “eternalgringo” account but now that i have gone to update the title of the existing blog (twototravel) is says that the name is no longer available. If you can help me get the “eternalgringo” account/blogname back, that would be great!
Thanks, L

If you deleted the blog, it’s gone for good. If you deleted the username I don’t know what you’re talkinga bout because accounts cannot be deleted here.
eternalgringo.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this blog.
The only way to use EternalGringo now is to buy a custom domain like Eternalgringo.com and the mapping upgrade to attach it to your account.
This is why there are three separate warnings and an email confirmation of the blog deletion.

Thanks. Was wondering if there might be a period of time where the username will become available again. Is there a direct email address for WordPress support? I would like to see if there is a way to get the name back somehow…

See here for verification:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
I’m sorry but deleted blog URLs here are not recycled and no exceptions are made. That’s why 3 warnings are given and why a verification link in an email that must be clicked is sent in order to accomplish deletion. You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.
