new blog allows administrative access to all

I created a second blog on my account, set to require a log-in so it will be invitation-only. However, when you log into that blog, the administrator’s black menu bar is at the top, giving anyone who logs in complete access to all administrative functions – not only for that blog but for my original blog as well. Am I missing something here about how to set a privacy setting?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If I understand right, you are concerned that you don’t need to log in to access your other blog, and that’s the way it’s supposed to work. I don’t think I could get access to the admin portion of your blog.

No, you don’t understand. If I open a new window and type in the name of my primary, public blog, it comes up without any admin bar. No one else has access to do anything but to submit a comment for moderation. If I open a window and type in the name of my second blog, it requires the user name and password, but comes up with the admin bar giving full admin access to not only THAT blog but to my PRIMARY blog as well. Just because a blog is private shouldn’t mean that everyone who logs on to it can access the admin functions – let alone access the admin functions for BOTH blogs.

Ok, I think I get it now, sorry for the delay in my reply. The one blog you said was private, so that means that you only allow access to people you choose. It sounds like you’re viewing your public site while not logged in, so naturally it wouldn’t have the admin bar, but if you were logged in it would show the admin bar on your public blog, but only to you. When you log into your private blog, you also see the admin bar, and you see it for both blogs because they’re on one account, but if you added me to your private blog, I would not be able to see the admin bar for your blog. Does this make sense?

Yes, thanks, I finally figured out the issue.
