New domain blog to stand alone and not associate with primary domain name. How do I manage this? Just registered get-hired-guide.com – needs to be separate from pivottingforward.com

I understand what I need to do – I had forgotten to get the wordpress.com address for the blog first and went ahead and bought the get-hired-guide.com domain. However, now when I try to register the get-hired-guide.com.wordpress.com it shows it is unavailable and therefore will not allow me to register it with the wordpress.com
Please advise.

Well the good news is that you have a custom domain set up. So, no matter what you call your WordPress.com site, no one will see your XXXX.wordpress.com address. They will only see the custom domain name in their address bar.
Your WordPress.com site name doesn’t have to match your custom domain.
Feel free to start your new WordPress.com site with any name that appeals to you, and we can do the domain transfer.

I have registered (email visible only to moderators and staff) and would like get-hired-guide.com to be transferred to this address so that it will become a primary site versus an orphan of my original The Journey – pivottingforward.com.
