New Blog not adding into "featured" slider correctly

  Hello,

  I am using the Toujours theme which incorporates a “featured” slider along the top below the main image. The way it is instructed to enter new articles into it (consequently bumping the last one out and into the regular archive listed below it) is to add the tag #featured. I am doing this, and also removing the #featured tag from the last post I would like removed to make room in the slider for the new one, however it is not updating to reflect these changes. Am I doing this incorrectly? And how do I fix this, as it is a sports beat blog and needs to be considered up to date within minutes.

  Hi,

  On the Toujours theme, the featured content slider will display up to 8 post with the featured content tag assigned. It displays them in reverse-chronological order according to the publish date.

  The way it is instructed to enter new articles into it (consequently bumping the last one out and into the regular archive listed below it)…

  Since you have fewer than the maximum number of posts with the featured content tag assigned, there shouldn’t be any bumping. Bumping would only occur if you had more than 8 posts with the f.c. tag. In that case, if you published a new post and added the f.c. tag to it, then the new post would appear as the first (latest) item in the slider, and the post that was previously the 8th oldest would now be the 9th oldest (with the tag), and consequently drop out of the slider.

  If you want to keep the number of posts in the slider at five, then when you add a new post with the tag, you should remove the tag from any one of the five that was previously displaying in the slider. Just keep the number of posts with the featured content tag assigned at five. It may take a short time to update. How have you waited without seeing the update?

  If you continue to encounter this issue and there are no browser or internet connection issues that might be responsible, then I’d suggest that you add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar at right here to call for staff attention.
