New blog post clicking on link
-
Hello,
I just published a new blog post. I also subscribe to my blog site. When I click on the link from the email notification to my blog post, it directs me to the second paragraph on the post instead of the top of the page. How can I get this to go directly to the very top of the page for people who subscribe to my blog?
Thank you,
P.S. This is the recent post in question
For subscribers, I want link from email notification to go directly to top of page, thank you

Hi there,
I am just explaining why it takes you to the second paragraph.
This is happening because your link contains an ID reference (#more-7223) at the end.
If you are visiting the link without that,
ie,
You will get to the top of the page.
Thanks

Hi there,
The reason the link in the email contains
#more-7223is because you’re using the more-tag to only show an excerpt of the post on your front page, and also in email notifications to subscribers. So when someone clicks that link, just like when they click Continue Reading on the post on your site’s front page, they get taken to the next paragraph after the more tag. This is by design – the link appears at the bottom of the first paragraph, which they would have already read, so clicking the link takes them directly to the following paragraph the need to read next.
The only way to prevent this is to not use the more-tag, which would cause the full text of the post to appear in the email.
