New blog post editor has removed border and auto size control of images…
-
The new WordPress blogpost editor screen(s) are horrid — there’s no easy way to edit image links, put simple 1 or 2-pixel borders and spaces around images, and all my Alt Text descriptions have been wiped from Media Library — is there any way to return to the old, original blog posting screen? The new look is a nightmare… Help?

There may be others here who can explain how to do what you’re trying to do in the new editor. In the meantime, you should still be able to access the old style editor at this link.

Hope this helps.

Oh wow — fantastic help, thank you! Am more frustrated they didn’t inform us when they updated it detailing some of the thinking behind the changes and offering us the opportunity to switch back to old editor — image usage and manipulation feels much easier with the original editor (for what I want to do at least). Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

My pleasure.
There is a lot of information over on the official blog. It’s a great place to keep up on new features and the thinking behind them.
Here’s their most recent post about the new editor, from a couple days ago.
Best of luck!
