New blog registered under wrong user

  I tried to register the blog ‘machinesandpeople’ under a new accound. But WordPress told me that I had to delete my old account before using the same username (I wanted to start completely over). So I logged into my old account, deleted all the blogs, and found that the ‘machinesandpeople’ had been registered under my old account name (I didn’t want this). So I deleted this, changed my user name, logged out and tried to sign up again. WordPress tells me the blog name is taken, although I deleted it. Is there a way to get this blog title again? It registered itself with my old account (which I did not want) and I deleted it immediately.

  Sorry, we can’t undelete sites, and once you delete one, the address can’t be reused.

  I recommend you register a similar domain instead:
  https://wordpress.com/domains/

  For future reference, you can transfer a site to another account:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/
