new blog, wrong language
-
I live in the UAE, speak only English. I set my blog up in Bali, Indonesia, and it is all in the Indonesian language. It translates to English, sometimes, sometimes not, and sometimes yes but not so well. How do I get my blog to just be in English?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there!
When I visit your site, I see it in English:
https://cloudup.com/cbfkmmPhiHEThis is because my personal settings for my WordPress.com account AND my computer are set to English.
To make sure your WordPress.com settings are correct, please make sure your interface language and Blog Language are set to English:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/language-settings
You may also need to make certain that your browser, Chrome, is not set up to translate your websites into any language but English:
https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95416?hl=en
Finally, you’ll want to make sure your computer’s language settings are correct:

I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!

Thanks thatrobyn…I’ll check all that out. But now, even my hotmail is listing in Indonesian, and I keep getting a window opening that asks me to offer a better translation…jeeesh
thanks again -
Ahhhh…my first recommendation is to try another browser, such as Firefox. If the problem persists, it may be an indication that the issue is with your computer’s settings, rather than your browser.
On a personal note, I’ve had a similar issue. It was caused by my “helpful” browser changing languages for me as I traveled to different countries.
Good luck. I hope you either change your settings to English…or learn Indonesian very quickly :)

Ha! Good, good!
Please do let me know how this all works out. I’m curious!
All the best to you.

Thank you! Ha.
I’ll keep an eye on your site. Great idea to start a blog to depict your travels. How wonderful and useful for other folks interested in a similar journey!

Ok, thanks. One question, if you have time: when I go to WP or type in my name, it takes me to what looks like mere pages. There is no comments or buttons on those pages. Just my posts. If I click the “blog” button at the bottom, it takes me to my reader stuff. How do I find my blog that looks like my blog, the thing others see?
sorry…but thanks again -
Hey again!
When you are logged into WordPress.com, and you’re actually on the URL http://wordpress.com, you will see your Reader. This displays any posts from blogs to which you’ve subscribed, as well as your own posts. Here’s information about your Reader, and how your subscribers may user their Readers to view your posts:
If you want to go straight to your site, and see if as the public will, you can go to:

Thanks again. But, yeah, that’s what I meant. When I put in my address, just as you have (I even clicked it in your message), I don’t get what looks like a blog, it looks like “only” the two posts I’ve made, with no buttons to like or comment.
-
I see! This is because you’re looking at those posts on your main page. Likes and comments don’t appear there in this theme.
You need to click on the post name and go to its individual page in order to see the likes/comments.
For instance:
https://badfish2.wordpress.com/2015/01/05/beyond-my-comfort-zone/Scroll to the bottom and you’ll see. This is what your visitors see when the read a new post on your site.
Does that help?
