New Blogger – RSS Feed Help
-
I’m trying to create an RSS feed from my blog site to my personal e-mail. When I click on the RSS feed on my e-mail it can’t find my blog when I copy/paste the address http://www.ictit.wordpress.com/feed/ into it. Anybody willing to help a fledgling?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I just clicked on the link you provided above and it brings up your RSS feed just fine for me.
What do you mean, “click on the RSS feed on my e-mail… ?”
-
Thanks much. That is why I am struggling to understand why the link won’t work when I try to Add Content/Add RSS Feed using my Yahoo account. I have the same problem when I try to use “RSS feed for this topic” on this page.
Any help very much appreciated!

I tried that and it didn’t work. Still looking for an answer if you have any suggestions. Thanks again!

Your feed is not http://www.ictit.wordpress.com/feed/ actually, it is http://ictit.wordpress.com/feed/ but I’m not sure that’ll make the difference. Try it.
-
Oh, good catch Rain. That is probably it. Yahoo is very finicky. Most readers will resolve the URL and redirect to the www-less feed, but Yahoo thinks they are above that it seems.
-
Thanks for playing ;-)
That didn’t work either. I tried without www, both with and without the “/” after feed. No such luck. Any other possibilities I should try? I really do appreciate the help troubleshooting this.

I just set it up and have the new feed as http://feeds2.feedburner.com/IctAssetLogistics
If I copy/paste this into a browser window, it takes me there.
If I try to attach it to My Yahoo, it doesn’t work.
Anything else I should be thinking of?
-
What do you mean attach? And you don’t copy and paste anything.
Click on your feed, the very link you just provided. Look at the upper right where it says Subscribe. Click on the MyYahoo chiclet.
Your feed is there. I just checked.
-
Your right. The feed is there. But when I click on the My Yahoo chicklet – it tells me there is problem and doesn’t connect. I’ve gone to Google as a patch. If there is anything else that I should be considering I’ll always appreciate the help.

i set up my blog without an rss feed (because i didn’t know what it was) and set up pages, links, etc. and have been using the blog for about 2 months. i added the rss feed widget because now that i do understand what it is, i want to add it. when i add the widget, the entire right column and everything in it disappears, my pages, categories, archives and links are all gone and just the rss feed is there. i’m using the kubrick design. i don’t want to start over so do i have to choose between starting over and using rss?
-
We cannot answer without a link to your blog, starting with http. We need to see the blog when you ask a technical question.
-
sorry, I thought it was linked to my little avatar thingie. it is http://jimgottuso.wordpress.com
-
@gottuso: Most themes come with a small preset selection of sidebar items. When you add any widget yourself, this selection is cancelled. So you just continue adding all the widgets you really want.

thanks panaghiotisadam… so if i add what i want, it permanently wipes out everything that’s already there… in other words, I have to start over?
