new bugs in the bip bip editor

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m really fed up with this editor WordPress forces us to adopt.

WordPress engineers, if you want us to, could you please at least test your new versions before putting them on live?

    I found two bugs:
    1. I can’t enter tags with comma between them. It consider them as one tag. We have to enter them one by one, it’s really a lost of time when we copy/paste.
    2. When I edit a post, the editor changes the displaying of my text (it fucks up my paragraphs without me asking anything).

It’s really because I have blogger friends who tell me they are contempted by their blog-providers in the same kind of way WordPress contempts its users that I stay with WordPress.
I must say I don’t understand that attitude.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Christophe,

I was able to reproduce the first issue. When manually typing the tags with commas, they’re inserted as separate tags. However, if comma-separated tags are copy/pasted in the field, it will see it as a single tag.

To temporarily overcome this, you can still use the old editor from Dashboard > WP Admin > Posts. Here’s a direct link to it.

I wasn’t able to reproduce the second issue though, and I’m tagging this thread for Staff attention as well.

    Hi there,

Thanks for reporting those issues you’re having with the editor.

    1. I can’t enter tags with comma between them. It consider them as one tag. We have to enter them one by one, it’s really a lost of time when we copy/paste.

We’ve reported this issue to our team, and I made sure your details are added to that report. I don’t have a timeline for when our team will have a chance to investigate that issue, but we’ll certainly keep it in mind as we continue working on that editor.

    2. When I edit a post, the editor changes the displaying of my text (it fucks up my paragraphs without me asking anything).

Could you give me a link to a post where that happens? I want to make sure I understand what’s going on there.
