new categories not showing in my new theme

I just changed to the “rounded” theme. I went to “categories” and added new ones, but when i go back to my blog, they’re not there. am i missing a step?

With your new categories, do you have posts assigned to them?
If you add a category and have no posts assigned to it, then the category won’t appear in your category widget. If a category has no posts to show, then you won’t see the category.

One last question: if i manually go to each post and change its category to one of the new ones i created, is that possible? -

Something to consider, though: if you remove categories from posts then readers finding those posts via search engines may get a 404 not found error.
For example, say you have a category called “peanut butter recipes.” If you suddenly decide that “peanut butter recipes” should be more general, like “nut butter recipes” then it might not be a good idea to delete the “peanut butter recipes” category because search engines have already listed your recipes in that topic. Better to just add the more general category to old posts and stop using the specific peanut butter cat in future.
In other words, adding categories is fine, but think twice about deleting them.
