New category addition is not working–posts will not save

  I added a new category, as I have done in the past. I save updates at every step. I designated several posts for this new category. I put the checkmark in the new category box and updated each post.

  As a check, I clicked on the new category at the top of the home page and only got this statement:

  “It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help.”

  The new category is called “The Good Stuff.”

  I have reviewed all the support ways to add a category several times. I have tried to fix this multiple times. Not working.

  You can create Categories and sub-categories and assign them to posts prior to publication http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/ then create a custom menu and add the dynamic Categories and sub-categories pages to it and arrange them to create drop-downs.

  Thanks so much for your kind response.

  I have one custom menu with basic categories. I do not need subcategories. I have added categories after posting, and that has worked fine until now.

  I’ve put categories in drop-down order.

  I’ve kept it simple.

  Am I missing something?
