Can you share a post where the media URL insertion is not working?

1) can no longer add certain links to videos or websites to the following course pages I have created via the Add Media function. I have to now manually copy and paste the address in which I don’t like because it doesn’t look as nice when i was able to title it (which was usually Click here to go to website, etc.) The sites are either Youtube or links to sites, all things I have been able to upload in the past. In fact, the older posts have links to these videos or websites.

3) Also, my users now must make a blog (that they don’t even want to create or maintain) just to view my protected account. They used to be able to just “Create just username.”
I am a teacher and use these different course pages from year to year and need to be able to add to and update them easily as needed. Please help!

Are you using the “old” editor or the “improved posting experience”? If the latter, then you are not alone in finding it a very unsatisfactory experience. You know you can still use the old editor? Go to your dashboard at <blog>/wp-admin/index.php and edit from there.

Thank you that seems to help; about my 3rd question; is there a way for students to get just a username to view my private site like they used to be able to (instead of now having to create their own blog in sign up?) I appreciate your help with this because it is very confusing for both parents and students to do this and makes it hard for me as a teacher to continue using this site to host all of my course blogs. Thanks once again!

Users can only be authors, contributors, adminstrators or reviewers. So you can send an invitation to someone but they have to be members of WordPress.com in order to accept.

i was having a similar problem but with not being able to find attachment details for inserting images.. after reading this, i was able to find what i needed by going into the old editor.
i do not like these new changes at all. much thanks to acommonreaderuk for letting us know we can still use the old editor!
