New charity site associated with my personal site.

    I run my own author WordPress site (stuartaken.net) but recently opened and designed a WordPress.com site for a charity I support. The new site is showing me as the author of blog posts, under my author name of my personal website. This is a problem, as it looks like advertising. How can I change the author name on the charity website blog to reflect my personal name instead of my writing name, please?

    Hello there, Any site registered under the same username account will show the same display name as author. The only way to change that is to set up a new account and then transfer the charity site to it, or add that new account as an Editor on the charity site.

    Make sure you are completely logged out of your current account and then you can set up a new account without opening a site here: https://wordpress.com/start/account/user/

    Thank you, Justjennifer. As this is a charity site, for which the charity has paid, and as it is now public after I’ve spent many hours designing it and setting it up, am I able to retain the site itself, under it’s URL, but assign it to a new ‘owner’? If so, can I do that using a different email address, or will that new email still identify me as the ‘owner’ of the site?
    I currently use Gmail, and run 3 email accounts there. If I use MS Outlook to form the new email address, will that form a barrier to my identity as the site owner? Sorry to ask so many questions, but I want to get this sorted without either losing everything I’ve already posted and without costing the charity any further money.

    As I mentioned earlier, if you want to entirely split the site from your current username account, you will need to open a new account and that requires using a different email address to the one in use on your current username account.
