New comment form requires Javascript/CSS unnecessarily
-
When reading and leaving comments on WordPress blogs (even my own) I use a text-based browser that does not have Javascript or CSS support. This used to work fine with the old comment form because the unstyled HTML exposed the fields for name, email address, and website of the commenter.
The new form requires clicking on the envelope icon to expose those fields. In addition to being confusing for users, it means that the unstyled HTML hides the fields necessary to leave a comment without Javascript.
I am pretty sure I know what the response to this will be, but I will ask anyways: please make your forms more accessible to people like me by exposing the fields necessary to leave comments in bare HTML. I do not have great access to computing resources, and even WordPress sites can make graphical browsers like the one I am composing this on slow to a crawl. That does not happen in my text-based browser.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey @oldlurker974, thanks for that feedback! I’ll get it straight to the team working on new comments.
