New, comment visibility options
-
Just noticed new options under Comments widget. There is now an option to show or hide comments based on the filters you select. Could someone please point out a good use cases for the available options?
I was thinking that there should be a way to disable the pingback and trackback comments to show up in the comment widget (when people reblog your posts). But I don’t see that particular option as of yet.

I have not had time to open the Recent Comments widget and so this is off the top of my head. I do not wish to display my own answers to comments others post in that widget. If I can now exclude my own comments from display in the widget in the sidebar- alleuia!

Visibility – “Private” option. There are quite a few posts I designated “private” AFTER I had published them. I asked a friend to check if she could see them, but alas, the public can still see them. Is this because initially I published it under “public”?

Please post and active link starting with http:// to your blog.
Also provided details specifics for Staff regarding which widgets and which settings you set to be “invisible”. I tagged this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. -
Visibility options seem to have appeared on the majority of widgets and, with the exception of a brief note on the Categories Widget, there’s not much info available yet.

If you can’t think of an option, I’d say don’t worry about it. :)
It’s really a personal choice. Maybe you don’t want any widgets on your Contact page. Maybe you only want to display the “Blogs I Follow” widget on your blogroll page. It’s entirely up to you.
