New comments first
-
Hello,
I wondered if it is possible to change the comment-settings of our blog, because now you see the latest comments at the bottom of a page.
It would be more userfriendly if you see the latest comment at the top of the page.I hope anyone can help us with this.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Stal Dubbroek
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s the exact opposite of the way comments have worked since the invention of blogs. But it’s possible. What you have to do is edit the posting time of every single comment so that the newest appears to be the oldest and vice-versa.

Yes its the opposite. But it is more userfriendly, more websites have it now. If i had to choose all blogs would be like this, you don’t have to scroll all the way down everytime a comment is added.
I already found out I could change the time of every post but this is not great either. If someone posted a comment last year, its strange to change the date in today and it is lots of work as well.
In the internet i read there was a code with could be implemented in the blog so the order would change but in the wordpress.com blogs its not possible to change codes.
Would be great if wordpress added a button to switch on/off: last comment first

There is no automated way to do this, and it’s not that popular an option. You MIGHT be able to do it with independent WordPress.ORG, but I’m not sure.

Glad to help.
It’s a function I’d not played around with before so I learned something too.
