New Customizer disables features?

  I have been informed by a Happiness Engineer that the new Customizer disables some features on some themes. I was asking specifically about the Twenty Ten theme and the ability to change the color of the site title. He said that feature is no longer available and recommended choosing a new theme or paying for the CSS upgrade.

  I had not heard about this before. Is there a list anywhere of which themes have been affected by the new Customizer? And of how they’ve been affected?

  It says in my post that I changed the color before.

  The new customizer and the old customizer do not provide the same features for the same theme. That’s the whole point.

  To clarify, do you remember changing the colors in the customizer before? The customizer gives you a live preview of your changes.

  Or did you change it in an older interface? Do you know about how long ago this was?

  I changed it to red last month, for the holiday season. I used the “older interface” that I have been using for six years. The “older interface” is no longer available.

  I did not see any notice that the “older interface” was going away. I’m stuck permanently with a title color that was supposed to be seasonal. Changing themes is a fair amount of work.

  I asked your Happiness Engineer if someone could change the title to black for me, just once, but he said NO.

  It’s as though WordPress let me turn on the “falling snow” feature in December, and then in January said, “Oh, sorry, you can’t turn that off now.”

  That would be unacceptable, wouldn’t it? Why is this different?

  Alright, I understand that can be frustrating. We’ll see if we can find a solution. I’m contacting you via email with temporary solution for the meantime.
