New Dashboard – Can’t use HTML
-
I’m trying to put some HTML code into a new post but it won’t let me. The HTML does not accept my attempt to use it.

dicGood joke: A Salute to Rodney Dangerfield
Sorry, it changes it, so I’ll slightly misprint it by adding dic before it; -

Use the backticks as it says underneath the comment box. Usually it’s the key next to the 1 on your keyboard.

Is this it?

Don’t understand backticks!! There seems to be a prob in trying to change between HTML & Visual Edit. I’ve just tried entering some other HTML <p><img src=”http://dickiebo.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/120208-1359-11.png” alt=”” /></p> and that works OK but…the Visual Editor won’t show the correct writing afterwards. But it did come out on a Post. Very strange and disconcerting!

I don’t know why you can’t switch between visual and html.
You first posted a perfectly fine live link (without the backticks).
Don't understand backticks!!
BTW “backticks” are on my keyboard next to the “1” key: the lower case of the tilde (~). A backtick looks like this:. Like a backward apostrophe ' .‘ Anyway, they make it possible to post plain html in the forums without making it active. You can also use them here to make a box around a quote. You might try to type out
Good joke: A Salute to Rodney Dangerfield
then use the link button in the editor (the chain) to get it into your post. -

Try the cookie dance: log out, clear browser cache and cookies, restart computer. Sometimes that helps with these peculiar errors.

I wonder if this is right.
ALL PLEASE IGNORE THIS. -
