New dashboard–files won’t upload, things don’t look right in 2 dif. browsers
-
I like the concept of the new dashboard, but I have only used it a short while and already there are problems. Things seem to be royally messed up, on both of my browsers.
Normally, I use a slightly older version of Mozilla Firefox, version 1.0.7 (I’m on Win 98 so I can’t update to the latest version), but I also have version 6 of IE and what doesn’t look right on Firefox usually does on IE but not the new WordPress dashboard. When I go to edit a post, the boxes for revision/tags/comments/etc hover over the text box so I can’t read unless I minimize each box, and even so it’s a little annoying. This happens on both browsers.
Also, more annoyingly, I can’t upload a file (PDF) in either browser. Haven’t tried uploading photos or another type of file but so far I don’t expect that will work either. In Firefox the Flash thing that’s supposed to pop up when you go to upload a file doesn’t work right at all; it takes me to a whole other page instead of just a pop-up Flash box. And then it doesn’t insert the file at all. (By the way, the Flash worked just fine in the old dashboard with my Firefox browser.) The flash works in IE, meanwhile, but after I click “insert into post”, it doesn’t insert. The file name appears in the text of the post, but no link.
In addition, everything moves dreadfully slowly, while WP people say that speed of loading was one of their main goals in this change. I don’t have the fastest computer in the world, but I AM on DSL.
Thanks for any help.

IE 6 is problematic and obsolete: even the official Microsoft IE page urges abandoning it.
