New Dashboard Sucks

  Please don’t change the dashboard, the new one is terrible!!!!! Ugh, why do you companies keep thinking you need to change things? I hate it.

  It’s like here, spend all this time learning this layout and then someone says, hey, lets stress out our users by changing the interface completely, burying stuff, and making them halt whatever their workflow is so they can learn some new layout. WHY??? Who’s idea was it? Please fire them immediately. An unhappy customer.

  Can you please provide me more specific feedback? I understand learning a new layout can be a bit difficult to get used to, but if it’s actually making it more difficult to create posts and edit your site can you tell me exactly how?

  The text is smaller, they layout doesn’t make sense…. basically I don’t want to have to learn a new layout just because someone in your company decides it needs to change. The old layout is great because all the options you need are down the left, which makes total sense. The new layout is not intuitive at all. I know many people who have stopped using ebay because it got too confusing, and many are on the verge of leaving facebook for the same reason. Think google vs yahoo…. easy simple and clean wins.

  Thanks for your followup. I’ve added your suggestion for larger text. You can also increase the text size on that page using your browser’s zoom function.

  Can you tell me more about this? Is it that the sidebar is on the opposite side from what you’re used to? It sounds like you liked having access to the rest of your dashboard while you were creating a post. Does the lack of direct access to the rest of your dashboard interrupt your normal flow of creating a post?

  You can also click on the opt-out link at the bottom right of the new editor. When you click on that link to take you back to the classic editor, a cookie is saved on your computer that will make all of your “New Post” and “Edit” links default to the classic editor.
