New Domain

  I purchased a domain name through a different site, but when I try to transfer it to WordPress, it says it won’t be ready to transfer until December 30th. Is there a way to begin my site without having that domain name ready?

  I figured out how to begin without before transferring, but it’s not showing me a few option?

  Hi there,

  You don’t have to transfer your domain to start a site here.

  All sites on WordPress.com get a free WordPress.com or .blog subdomain when the site is created, that functions just like any regular subdomain, and your site is fully online and accessible at that subdomain (provided you set it to public).

  While your domain is not eligible for transfer, you can also still connect it to your site here via the domain mapping option included in each of our plans. With that option you’ll just point the domain to our servers from your current domain provider.
