New domain

  I changed my domain from the one I purchased with WordPress. I am now self hosted and with a new domain. Is it necessary to keep the old domain I started with in order for it to redirect to my site? If I get rid of that domain will I be able to access the content on my site?

  I am now self hosted and with a new domain.

  These forums are for WordPress.com sites. Now you are using the self hosted version, WordPress.org, you can find help on the WordPress.org support forums:

  If you want to redirect your old domain, you will still need to own it. It would be best to speak to your domain registrar about redirecting it to your new site, they should be able to give you some advise.

  Yes — changing your domain will not affect access to your content.
