new domain, how to connect old links to the new website?
-
Dear all,
I have been using a blog for years: akundanza.wordpress.com.
Then I bought a domain: akundanza.orgThen things in my life changed and I changed the domain to:
mariamunainmoral.com
This website works properly. However the links to akundanza content that I posted in the past in FB for example:
http://akundanza.org/2014/09/25/triana-triana-and-how-things-come-together-in-a-marvellous-conjugation/do not work. The error is err_name_not_resolved.
I can find the same content if i enter through my current website:
http://mariamunainmoral.com/2014/09/25/triana-triana-and-how-things-come-together-in-a-marvellous-conjugation/Is there a way to connect both?
So that the past links and images that I can find in the internet get redirected to the new mariamunainmoral.com website?I hope I am a bit clear :)
Thank you veeeeeeeeeeeeery much for your support,
this community is great!Best regards
MaríaThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @akundanza, you can change the links in your site to point /2014/09/25/triana-triana-and-how-things-come-together-in-a-marvellous-conjugation/ . This will work for any broken links in your site.
However, you wouldn’t be able to redirect any links from search engines and other outside sites unless you owned the domain akundanza.org .
I know personally, if I’m going to change domain names, I’ll keep both the old one and the new one registered for a while, with the new one marked as Primary. Doing that redirects the old one to the new one, and it also gives a signal to search engines that the link has changed. That gives them time to update to the new site.
If you want to add akundanza.org back to your account, it does look like the domain is available again, so you can get it here:
https://wordpress.com/domains/akundanza.wordpress.comJust be sure to keep your new domain marked as primary. Then you can cancel the old one again just before it expires. I hope that helps!

Oh, thank you very much for your help.
So I will buy again my old domain and then how do I redirect all the posts?
Thank you very much

When you add the old domain, keeping the new domain primary, any links to the old domain will automatically redirect to the new one. Search engines will also get a signal that the change is permanent so they can update their links.
With any luck, site owners will update their links, too. You can also go through and correct any bad links in your own posts:
