New domain name

  I need to direct my blog to my new domain name and apparently need an IP address or C name or DNS information for Register.com in order to do so?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  Just to confirm, are you trying to use your domain anyhooo.net with your WordPress.com blog (mcmottl.wordpress.com)? If so, you’ll just need to change the name servers to point to WordPress.com as explained here:

  Change a Domain’s Name Servers

  If you’re trying to accomplish something else, could you please clarify?

  Yes- I am trying to get my wordpress blog to link to Anyhooo.net.
  Anyhooo.net is already listed on the name server.
  When I called Register.com to ask why my blog isn’t showing up at all anymore (just adds for Register.com), they said that WordPress needs to give me one of the following:
  IP address
  C name
  DNS
  and that I’m supposed to call them back with that information so that they can enter it in my account on their end?
  Please advise.
  I don’t understand any of this! :)

  I believe Register.com is just asking for how you want to point your domain to WordPress.com. “DNS” typically refers to domain name servers. They will need to point your name servers to the following:

  NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  If you provide them that information, they should be able to get this sorted out!
